Equipped with an 820-gallon hopper capacity, this multiple-use aircraft can scoop up water from nearby lakes, rivers and oceans or it can reload at the airport, enabling a greater range of fire fighting applications and options. The Fire Boss loads water at the rate of 40 gallons per second at over 60 miles per hour. Other features of the AT-802F include turbine reliability, improved fuel efficiency and heightened aircraft performance during initial attack and forest fire control, as well as assisting with forestry protection. Powered by a PT6A-67AG turbine engine, the AT-802F takes off and lands on the water, at remote strips or at small airports, and offers low vibration and excellent pilot visibility. Its state-of-the-art drop system sets this aircraft apart as a cost-effective fire fighting tool.
